The National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) is a nationwide examination for the licensing of nurses in the United States, Canada, and Australia since 1982, 2015, and 2020 respectively.
There are two types, the NCLEX-RN and the NCLEX-PN.
After graduation from a school of nursing. A nursing student will have to take the NCLEX exam to receive a nursing license. NCLEX allows the nurses to practice in different states where they meet the requirements. NCLEX exam is conducted by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN).
The NCSBN administers these examinations which consist of 50 state boards of nursing such as the District of Columbia, American Samoa, and four U.S territories, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, and the US Virgin Islands.
NCLEX exam takes two forms, NCLEX-RN and NCLEX-PN tests candidates to ascertain their eligibility to become practical nurses as an initial and entrance examination.
